ASUS VivoBook battery not working/dead [SOLVED]

Before a few months ago, I played a game on my laptop (ASUS VivoBook), and suddenly the computer went off without any notifications or blue screen or anything else. I was confused and tried to boot my laptop by pressing the power button. But sadly, it is not working. Then I try to remove the power and giving back but the same result. I kept for few hours unplugging the power cable and tried again, but the same result as the last time.

Then I dissembled the laptop. You know that Vivobook has an inbuilt battery, so the “remove the battery and fix it again” solution is not going to work. But I removed the battery cable and tried but the same result. Then I fixed my mind to take the laptop to a technician. But after few hours I try to switch it on again. And that time, it was working. But the problem is, it only works with the plugged-in power. When I remove the power cable, it switches off immediately.

Then I thought it was because of an operating system issue, and I installed the OS again. But same as the last time, it switched off when I pulled the power cable. Then I thought my battery is dead and has to replace the battery. But because of the Covid-19 pandemic situation, I didn’t have the chance to replace my battery.

I almost tried every solution on google, YouTube and even took advice from tech experts. Everyone’s answer was the same. That is to replace the battery. It was only a few months that I have bought my laptop, so I didn’t accept my battery has died. Somehow, a miracle happened, and my battery starts to work again. Even though It’s a miracle, I think two actions that I made cause it to work again.

SOLUTION

  1. I used my laptop without shutting down for few days. When I go to sleep, I closed the lid, and that sleeps my computer. The next day, I opened the lid and started working again.
  2. The second scenario is I had a problem with my Nvidia graphic driver, and I install the GeForce Experience and install the graphic drivers.

Those were the two actions that I did before my laptop’s battery start to work again. I don’t know whether this will solve your problem, but I think it’s worth trying.
